Sessions expire after 180 minutes of inactivity. If you click the remember me box, when you log on you will automatically logged back on when you return, but if you switch between devices (IP addreses) it will remember you on only the last device you used. So maybe you are switching between devices more then you used to.
I realize you are super busy and this is a minor matter. Textbox fonts are tiny, sidebar fonts are tiny, and the main feed has huge, compressed fonts. This is with a new install of Chrome on a crappy old pc running Windows ten and there are probably three flash/adblockers in play. I have not had problems with chrome or firefox on the macbook.

That's what I've had on my Win 10 & Win 7 machines (browser doesn't affect it) since Day 1.
I have resolved it now once I found the font sizing option at the top right of the screen, beside the Logout icon - it's the AAA icon.
Cranberries, southernman is correct. You have enlarged the Font size several times. Hit the middle A in the Font sizer to bring the text down to default size, so it doesn't overlap and look ugly.
I do need to enlarge the font size in the side menu. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
