While the plot was interesting and kept me watching, I can't say I enjoyed this show, at all. The things happening on screen are far too unpleasant for that. The main character is out for revenge, and let's say they go to great lengths to get it. They are kind of like Frank Castle, in that everyone who meets them is left worse-off for having done so.
I expected the title to be explained over the course of the series. It isn't.

I have never watched an Eli Roth film, but I suspect some of it would fall in line with that.
He directed the upcoming Borderlands movie, which I will watch, but obviously that one won't have any of that shit in it.

Once I get Netflix back for the Witcher I'll have to spring this on the wife without telling her about it

Currently, I am doing something different from binge-watching that doesn't seem to have pop culture label yet. Thanks to HBO Max, I have sort of moved into the DC universe by watching five different tv shows in rotation, all set in various versions of the DC setting: Doom Patrol, Titans, Harley Quinn, Star Girl, and Batman: the Animated Series. Some of these shows are significantly better than others, but watching them collectively is sort of how I used to read comics. I would go to the comic store once every week or two and grab the latest issues of my favorites plus maybe a few back issues or samples of titles that I hadn't tried before. As soon as time permitted, I would read the whole stack in one sitting, letting the collective colors, violence, and weirdness sweep over me. Once comics hit $4.00 per issue, that habit became too expensive to sustain, especially after I bought a house.

It still frustrates me to no end that "playlists" are not a thing on these streaming channels so I can just click a specific schedule of stuff from a curated list or something I download off the interwebz and plug into my account so it will all roll out before me in the 'proper' order without me having to hunt for each next episode across several series. Or just watch "the good" eps of Seinfeld, ER, or whatever.
I think some guy tried to patent the concept of a playlist and then sued a bunch of podcasters and the like in what was essentially an extortion shakedown, so I wonder if that is why this idea has not come to fruition. Or they just want to force you to have to browse their categories in the hope you will see other stuff and keep subscribing.
And really, once I started B:AS I don't think I could be bothered with the other stuff. That show runs so well into S:AS, JL, and Young Justice.

One weird thing that used to happen when I binge-watched shows was that I would start dreaming about those shows. Or even worse, dreaming that I was friends with the cast of a given show. I think that my current viewing habits are a little more healthy.

Selena Gomez is by far the weak link here. Of course nearly anyone will pale in comparison to Martin and Short, particularly Short playing a flamboyant character and Martin being Martin (hmmm, I realize that it might be confusing just using last names here
Still, while I have Hulu I'll keep watching but I'm not sure it will hold me to keep subscribing unless it perks up quite a bit.

On the other end of the spectrum I’m watching A.P. Bio with my wife. Another entry in the bad teacher genre, a Harvard philosophy professor ends up teaching biology in Toledo after being passed for tenure. “Teaching.” He spends most classes planning revenge on everyone who might have slighted him, including students. It works. I wish every character had more screen time, and the teacher isn’t overbearing in his causticity because he’s pretty clearly miserable himself. It’s on Peacock which is pretty easy to add to your streaming library as it includes a free option and a surprisingly strong stable of films including all three John Wicks and The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover.
