Good market power move, weird PR move. I wouldn't want to own that companies absolute garbage tier reputation, which they will now do and get to roll around in it.
Blizzard's HEARTHSTONE on iOS and OVERWATCH on PS4 are the most played games in my house over the previous five years, not even close. So, given what happened when Microsoft bought Bungie, I think the days are numbered for these franchises on my platforms of choice.
BLOODBORNE is amazing. There is a thread here with all kinds of spoilers on it if you are so inclined. I went way deep and GarySax Platinum'd it, maybe more than once?
I’d venture a guess that work for a Bloodborne remaster/update (even if they hand if off to another studio) wont even start until they get Elden Ring out the door.
It's a Sony property and if it's like Demon Souls (another Sony property) no one from From ever touched it. So they could easily have started a remaster right after Demon shipped and sold well.

You don‘t think they’d need at least a couple of of people at From to help work out certain intricacies of gameplay or having them “approve” of how the movement works with an updated framerate?
Someone can check me on this, but my understanding is no, Demon Souls was done pretty much completely on their own by Bluepoint. I believe Miyazaki even said they couldn't do a Demon Souls remake, that was all on Sony to do so since it was their property.
I think fans have made up-rezzed BLOODBORNE that looked good, so I would imagine Sony can handle it themselves. Someone even made a down-rezzed version (i.e., the world's greatest PS1 game). A real gamechanger (lol) would be less frequent loading screens.
I played resident evil village, I really love this game which mixes well the environment of the 4th game and the horrific side of the 7th game. The game is really beautiful to watch and has a large bestiary of monsters and characters
Mass Effect Legendary edition came out on GamePass so that is what I am slowly running through. The controls in the first one are a bit wonky compared to Mass Effect Andromeda which is the most recent version I have in my memory, but I'll get through that.
