Programming games aren't for everyone. It can be hard to...

"Hands up! Give me all your money!" you shout at the passengers on this express steam train to Colt City as you wave your revolver from side to side. You're in for a big haul and already imagine how you're going to spend all this money and how you're going to pawn the jewellery and become rich - but you hadn't expected the marshall being on board, as well as other bandits going from coach to coach trying their luck at getting rich quick at the same time as you. Your carefully planned heist seemed to quickly go off its rails and you begin to consider jumping off this fast-moving Colt Express by Christophe Raimbault from Ludonaute.

I've never played the full game. But I recently picked up Colt Super Express and that is a neat little condensed package. All cards are played face down in sequences of three. No fun toy factor (the meeples just go on train cards), but I'm led to believe it provides a similar feel to the original in a very short space of time. We've been enjoying it.

I just ordered the physical copy of Colt Express. Can't wait to play with the train.

I played Colt Express once, several years ago. The game owner had pimped out his set by replacing the meeples with nicely-painted miniatures appropriate to the Old West. The game was reasonably fun, but I felt that having a majority of the cards played faceup gave an advantage to the game owner, who was better equipped to analyze and respond to all of that open information. It was fun as a one-off experience, but I haven't played again, partly because of that owner advantage.
