Oink Games are famous...

A murder had been committed and three suspects were found at the crime scene, but only one of them was the murderer. One of the detectives was already at the scene and had spoken to two of the suspects when you arrived. The detective told you who they thought was the killer, but you wanted to be sure. You pulled the other two suspects to one side and interviewed each of them in turn. You quickly knew who had committed the murder and logged down your suspicion. The only thing that wasn't clear, was why the crime scene was In a Grove by Oink Games.

I have a very strange relationship with Oink games where I want to like them much more than I actually do. The beautiful productions, sharp graphic design and small boxes all contribute to a positive experience but so far I've only kept one of the three games I've tried from them.

I've tried Startups, Deep Sea Adventures and Modern Art. Of the three, Modern Art is the one I kept but that's because it leverages Oink's graphic design and product strengths while implementing a classic Knizia game design. Startups was fine but Deep Sea Adventures didn't really stick with me. I mention all of this because Oink is currently running a Kickstarter to port their games over to the Nintendo Switch and have their entire back catalogue up for grabs and this game was one of the ones I was considering.

Thanks for the review!

I didn't know about the Switch thing, I would love to give them a try there.

A digital download should be their smallest box to date. Link to the Kickstarter: www.kickstarter.com/projects/oinkgames/oink-games-plus
