The biggest issue I had with Quacks is that some of the book combinations are much less interesting than others. Including, bizarrely, the suggested "beginner" setup which is one of the very worst offenders.

Love this game. The expansion is great too. It adds a catch-up mechanism that actually works, more variability, the ability to keep pushing your luck if you reach the end of the track, and the witch powers that are really fun.

The bag problem can be corrected by purchasing four bottles of Crown Royal. New problems may arise, but you won't care very much until the following morning.

My buddies and I have been playing Can't Stop on boardgamearena while we wait for everyone to show up, and frankly, it's about as simple as a game gets. But it clearly punches a couple of happy-buttons in our brains, because we immediately restart once a game finishes. There are times when you don't need the game to be the center of attention, when it serves better as a mild distraction. We catch up on what's going on and the state of things while the game more or less plays itself.

There's a place for this, a fairly large one.

Thank you for all of your comments. I think Quacks is a bit of a mixed bag, if you excuse the pun. It's a lot of fun, easy to teach and learn, but for me it gets a bit repetitive after a while - yet, once I've not played it for a bit, I want to play it again.
