Dune casting was created by Michael Barnes
This is looking...quite legit.

Chalemet- Paul
Skarsgård- Baron Harkonnen
Bautista- Beast Rabban

I think Villeneuve ought to just get Patrick Stewart to reprise his role as Gurney Halleck. He’s only aged about a month and a half.

Would love to see an actor of Middle Eastern descent for Stilgar.

Tilda Swinton should be the ONLY choice for Reverend Mother Mohiam.

Doug Jones is a shoe-in for a Guild Navigator role.

Tom Hiddleston for Duncan Idaho? Or Feyd Rautha?

Forgive me, I'm not up on any character names. Can we find a role for Elijah Wood? I feel like he could Dune it up quite well.

I kind of want that too! Or at least some rock star to be in it. Madonna as Lady Jessica?

The big question is, who’s going to play Baron Harkonnen?

Timothy Spall would be great.

EDIT: Whoops, missed that Skarsgard was already mentioned in the role, but in my defense, I’d imagined “Alexander,” skimmed, and assumed Feyd Rautha or something.

I want vincent d'nofrio to be the Baron.

If we used no namers, then I'd pick video game reviewer Jim Sterling. He has the ego and the hefty look to pull off the Baron. The kind of person you just love to hate.

Hiddleston can go suck an electrified bag of dicks.

Seeing the list of names in the OP, I can't help but feel like it's the cast of avengers and other marvel movies thrown in it.

Skarsgard? Which bloody one? The whole family are thespians.

He doesn't have the fat jowls as he once did. In fact, he's quite a skinny bloke now. Almost sickly by comparison.

If they cast Chani with Hailee Steinfeld, I’m sleeping outside for first tickets

Hm. Yeah. I am unmoved. There are probably a dozen other epic sci-fi tales that I'd rather see converted to movie form than yet another stab at Dune. I've read the books. I've played the game. I've seen Lynch's poor version and the SciFi channel's OK one. Been there, done that. The stains become a warning.

The Lynch version rules and there's no reason to make another. Grab some courage and take Lynch's footage and make a 5 hour cut of it. That's the best solution.

Lynch made a heroic effort, and did a great job of capturing some crucial scenes from the first book. But I think that the books are too long and slow to ever make a satisfactory transition to the big screen. A better tv show might be possible, but there really are more deserving science-fiction and fantasy series out there. The Dune books are very thought-provoking and weighty, but not really intended for either movie or tv formats.

It’s funny but if you transported much of Constantine’s cast into Dune it would work.

Peter Stormare was born to play Baron Harkonnen. After Constantine and American Gods I can’t see him NOT being him.

Tilda Swinton as RevMom, no doubt. That would be terrifying.

Pruitt Taylor as Beast Rabban

Jose Zuniga as Stilgar

Gavin Rossdale as Yeuh

Shia LeBouf as Piter Dvries

Rachel Wiesz as the Lady Jessica OR as Chani depending on the age of who plays Paul.

So that means we'd have Keanu Reeves as Muadib?
