Sinners is pretty good on Netflix with Bill Pullman.

Slogging through all Dr Who seasons on the BBC iplayer but if not in UK you'll need a VPN. Pretty good writing but batshit crazy. Just about finished the last Capaldi season.

Also Hustle (the UK version) on the same platform. Excellent 'caper' series with Robert Vaughn as a bonus.

Decided to rewatch Alias with Jennifer Garner. Also batshit crazy but enjoyable enough, it's free on Amazon Prime.

Gregarius wrote: Avatar the Last Airbender is absolutely wonderful. I'm only at the end of the first season, but it quickly shot up to an all-time great for me. I like the subtle continuities that show up in different episodes, even when they aren't important or emphasized.

I've watched through the whole thing twice and might do it again...

I've tolerated several months now of poor television choices by my children:PJ Masks, Nexo Knights and Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, but the tide may be turning. I may have turned them onto Lauren Faust's DC Super Hero Girls. It's a reimagined DC timeline where most of the heroes are students at a normal high school in Metropolis, and Batgirl and Wonder Woman form a team with Supergirl, Zatanna, Jessica Cruz's Green Lantern and Bumblebee. It's fun and it's bright and sweet without drowning in sugar. This is now my definitive Wonder Woman combining the fish-out-of-water sensibilities of the MCU Thor and the commitment of it's Captain America, and punk rock Supergirl is pretty great, too.

Super Hero Girls is great! Also trying to get my kid into Avatar. She’s a little young but she’s game.

Started season 3 of Dark on Netflix. I think I need to read a full synopsis or just start over after the season is done... this is the most convoluted show I have ever seen.

Use this site darknetflix.io/en

It is an interactive family tree that you can set for season and episode to avoid spoilers. The show sticks the landing, though it gets VERY melancholy and grim this season. I dont think they quite pull it off, but they get very very close and it is amazing given how complex the show is. Stuff is probably lost in translation as well (I watch English dub with subtitles).

Still slowly working my way through the original Star Trek series via Amazon Prime. Amazon usually does a decent but brief synopsis of each episode, but the synopsis for The Omega Glory was amusingly wrong: "The Enterprise finds a planet devastated by disease that appears to treat the American flag with great reverence."

I just started watching Rome. My knowledge of Roman history is weak enough that I have a general idea of what will happen with Caesar but I won't be annoyed if the story takes some liberties for dramatic purposes. Still, it's good that the focus of the show is often on a couple of veteran soldiers, because nearly anything could happen to them without contradicting history. Overall, this feels like a sane and realistic version of Spartacus, right down to a character that reminds me a lot of Lucy Lawless on Spartacus. The storytelling is compelling and the performances are solid, and money was spent to really make the show look right.

ROME is excellent; shame it only lasted two seasons. The two soldiers viewpoint is clever.

Yeah, Rome is great. If only it had appeared *after* Game of Thrones, when HBO was rolling in money, they could've completed the planned five seasons. Such a shame.

Started watching Watchmen on HBO. It's not what I expected, but I don't know what I expected exactly. 3 episodes in an it seems pretty interesting, will most likely watch the whole season once I get the chance.

It's close enough to the broad strokes of what happened that a casual historian won't be offended.

(Once you're done, check out I, Claudius. Very different in style and tone (it was produced in 1976), but it picks up the story nicely and has a stellar cast.)

I love Watchmen and, after my wife bowed out after episode 3 of my first time through, I'm rewatching it again with her and enjoying it even more the second time.

We've also been watching Dead to Me and Russian Doll on Netflix, which are two perfectly cromulent shows that are in the B/B+ range for us, both in respect to the casts and the premises.

I also recently finished the first season of Kingdom, which I've heard described as being Game of Thrones with zombies, where the zombies actually drive the plot. I really enjoyed the political machinations, as well as one of the smart decisions the writers made regarding the zombies that allowed those machinations to develop and breather rather than the show barreling headlong between zombie encounters, but I just haven't gotten around to season 2 yet.

Technically true, but in Kingdom they don't ignore the existence of said zombies for years at a time.

I'm probably super late to this, but I just discovered a youtube series called "Hot Ones" where this guy interviews minor celebs (musicians, actors, comedians) while eating wings of increasing hotness (up to 2 million scoville). Pretty interesting concept and it REALLY throws the guest off their game. The interviewer guy is very measured and bland (guess he has to be since he is eating the wings as well), but asks good questions and gets very candid responses. It is a good nighttime rabbit hole to go down :)
