Slogging through all Dr Who seasons on the BBC iplayer but if not in UK you'll need a VPN. Pretty good writing but batshit crazy. Just about finished the last Capaldi season.
Also Hustle (the UK version) on the same platform. Excellent 'caper' series with Robert Vaughn as a bonus.
Decided to rewatch Alias with Jennifer Garner. Also batshit crazy but enjoyable enough, it's free on Amazon Prime.

Gregarius wrote: Avatar the Last Airbender is absolutely wonderful. I'm only at the end of the first season, but it quickly shot up to an all-time great for me. I like the subtle continuities that show up in different episodes, even when they aren't important or emphasized.
I've watched through the whole thing twice and might do it again...

It is an interactive family tree that you can set for season and episode to avoid spoilers. The show sticks the landing, though it gets VERY melancholy and grim this season. I dont think they quite pull it off, but they get very very close and it is amazing given how complex the show is. Stuff is probably lost in translation as well (I watch English dub with subtitles).

I just started watching Rome. My knowledge of Roman history is weak enough that I have a general idea of what will happen with Caesar but I won't be annoyed if the story takes some liberties for dramatic purposes. Still, it's good that the focus of the show is often on a couple of veteran soldiers, because nearly anything could happen to them without contradicting history. Overall, this feels like a sane and realistic version of Spartacus, right down to a character that reminds me a lot of Lucy Lawless on Spartacus. The storytelling is compelling and the performances are solid, and money was spent to really make the show look right.

It's close enough to the broad strokes of what happened that a casual historian won't be offended.Shellhead wrote: I just started watching Rome. (Once you're done, check out I, Claudius. Very different in style and tone (it was produced in 1976), but it picks up the story nicely and has a stellar cast.)

I love Watchmen and, after my wife bowed out after episode 3 of my first time through, I'm rewatching it again with her and enjoying it even more the second time.
We've also been watching Dead to Me and Russian Doll on Netflix, which are two perfectly cromulent shows that are in the B/B+ range for us, both in respect to the casts and the premises.
I also recently finished the first season of Kingdom, which I've heard described as being Game of Thrones with zombies, where the zombies actually drive the plot. I really enjoyed the political machinations, as well as one of the smart decisions the writers made regarding the zombies that allowed those machinations to develop and breather rather than the show barreling headlong between zombie encounters, but I just haven't gotten around to season 2 yet.

Technically true, but in Kingdom they don't ignore the existence of said zombies for years at a time.
