Forgotten Waters is right up in it for my 2020 game of the year. I wrote about it at Dicebreaker: www.dicebreaker.com/games/forgotten-wate...rs-board-game-review

I also wrapped my thoughts on James Hewitt's latest release, Devil May Cry: The Bloody Palace: playerelimination.com/2021/03/24/a-lesso...loody-palace-review/

I struggled a bit writing about DMC - it may show in the direction I took - but it's a quality game that is simply not can't miss. What keeps it from being something truly special is more ingrained in the type of game it is and the design goals as opposed to visible flaws or missteps. I think it's already been forgotten by time and it's barely been out.

It was a breath of fresh air compared to Horizon Zero Dawn; my disappointment with that will be published at Ars Technica eventually.

That was a great review, Charlie. DMC looks like a really fun game that I wish someone in my game group who isn't me would buy.

I'll pass on DMC, but reading that led me to your 3 articles on Core Space, and... yeah. Too many dollars later, I'm getting ready to solo this mother and kick off the Perseus Arm campaign. Haven't been this excited about a game in a good long while.

EDIT: Thinking back on it, probably the most excited I've been since... Terminator: Rise of the Resistance, ANOTHER game Charlie twigged me to. I'm sensing a pattern here.

Hey Marlowe!

Yes, Core Space is one of my favorite games of the past decade. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

LOL I also got lured into both Core Space and Teminaror by Charlie- both were great and I had a lot of fun with both.

Supposedly the Core Space gang is doing a fantasy game...

Hmph, you may have defeated Marlowe and Barnes but you'll never overcome my poverty powers through your writing.

Checkmate!

(Love reading your stuff, though)

Just finished 4500 words on Runewars. Started this afternoon. I think I had something(s) to say about this game.

The original boardgame or the miniatures game?

I’d assume the the board game; the minis game pretty much died on the vine. It went clearance almost right away. That had to have cost FFG dearly.

The board game. Never touched the minis game because I had gotten out of GW by then and didn't want to dip back in. Like Msample said, it's a shame that they decided to go that route, as it may have been one of the factors that cost them the GW license with which they had had some significant successes.

When writing about Sleeping Gods I intertwined my thoughts with commentary on 7th Continent and Tainted Grail. My review is here: playerelimination.com/2021/04/07/the-tai...leeping-gods-review/

I don't remember who was talking about the GIGA fan expansion for Terraforming Mars but I played it recently and wrote a session report of it.

Terraforming Mars: My experience with the GIGA expansion

Last week I also wrote a guide to the rules I recommend for playing Dune. I discovered the game thanks to you guys so I hope it's useful for you:

Dune: What are the best rules to play?

Spent probably too much time the past couple of days on this one, but I couldn't sleep last night until it was finished.

I wrote about my apathy towards the MCU, re-watching the entirety of the series, and how all of this relates to my recent dive into the miniatures game Marvel: Crisis Protocol.
