It’s a Christmas miracle for somebody. I was cleaning out some bins in my basement and I can across a copy of the FFG Wiz-War. It is not my regularly played copy. I have no idea how it got there, where I got it, or when. I just do not remember ever getting a second copy. Anyway, it’s in excellent condition, some box wear/aging, and appears to be complete. It is the 2013 2nd edition.
$75 shipped before it goes to EBay!

As a dedicated reviewer for TWBG who had never played wizwar and whose not above begging, I'd consider a copy of wizwar as payment in full for a year and a half of dedicated service. (Kidding... unless...)

Like Hotseatgames, when I read the thread title I feared the worst.
I immediately went to:
MB is terminally ill
MB is joining a cult
or
MB is making space in preparation for the SJG printing

This is one of a very few number of games that I absolutely will not sell. I rarely regret selling games, but I have always regretted selling the old Chessex edition that I had in the 90s.
I’m not really interested in the Steve Jackson edition- I feel like the FFG one is definitive.
I may have this a little overpriced- I’m going to post it at $75 on eBay, but for TWBG I’ll go $65 shipped.

Same. Contrary to the usual rants about FFG's reprints (how people are still up in arms about Merchant of Venus when BOTH RULESETS WERE INCLUDED is beyond me), I think their production of Wiz-War is almost unimpeachable. The art is great. They have both the original boards and a new version. They included almost all the old variant rules either in the standard set or as add-ons in the back of the book. Plus, the expansions were excellent and add all kinds of chaos. They did go overboard on the defensive spells, but you can just thin those out (I think I have one copy of each in the deck now.) I really don't see how the typical slapdash SJG production is going to improve on FFG's version.

Wiz-War is definitely up there with MoV, Cosmic, and DungeonQuest revised- FFG’s best reprints.
I -think- I may have gotten this in a trade thinking I would update my 1st edition copy. Marc, is there any reason I should be hanging on to this as it is the “2nd 8th Edition”? I’m not aware of differences other than the more cartoony box art.

Not to my knowledge. There were no substantive changes between the printings that I'm aware of.
