Yeah, I ended up putting more hours into Slay the Spire than this, but I think that’s just because of the scaling difficulty. I’d say this is the better game, and one I’d happily recommend at its low price.

Aesthetically kinda similar- very different gameplay-wise.

If they had different design teams, they wouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence.

Yeah, they are quite literally nothing alike in terms of how they play. I would say the closest analog to Into The Breach is the XCOM games, although there is no RNG and I think that there are probably fewer mechanics to internalize in ItB.

Any of you guys played Fights in Tight Spaces? Definitely the closest thing to Into the Breach I’ve played, as far as the puzzle of positioning and trying to get enemies to hurt each other, but it also has a Slay the Spire-ish deck-building element. Been playing the shit out of it for a year, and it just left EA yesterday.

I've watched someone play it and I agree with the comparison... even the different decks for fight styles had that different team styles vibe in Into the Breach.

I never played it because I was going to hold off for the iPad version. Only took 4 years. Can’t wait!

I’ve scored 30k a few times. (Four islands in hard with no human/building casualties). However, I’m positive that I took some mech damage in those games.

The random enemy spawns convince me that nothing is altogether predetermined to be perfectly fair, if that makes any sense. The longer the game goes, the more powerful you need to get to keep up.

I don't know if the AI is deterministic or not, that would determine that. I will say it almost *always* has a solution every turn but not always one I can find that prevents all building damage.

Just trying to figure out how tightly I need to be playing. I take it I should prioritize buildings since mechs heal between missions?
