Games You Regret Trading or Selling

New York City standard personally guaranteed leases allow him to come after my house as well. I'm planning on selling off a shitload of rare and OOP games (BSG and expansions, Capes and Cowls, Heroquest, Tide of Iron, Assasinorum, Arkham Horror, etc.) to help defray my legal costs. Do you guys think I'd get more bang for my buck selling on ebay or setting up an auction over at BGG?
First of all, this fucking sucks and I'm sorry.
There are some people around here who sell a lot of games so I hope they'll poke in and give you some good advice.

I'm very sorry to hear that.jay718 wrote: A bit off topic, but the pandemic forced me to shutter two of my bars for a complete loss and I'm now in a legal battle with a predatory landlord to hang on to the one I have left. eBay will probably get you the most money, but they also take a bigger cut.
BGG Auctions can be really hit or miss, since you never know who will see it. Posting in the BGG Marketplace is more reliable monetarily, but it will probably take longer to sell. They take a very modest cut.
Craig's List can work if you don't feel like shipping anything, but everyone on there is looking to get the best deal possible.

A hybrid approach may also work - sell the big rare stuff on Ebay, the common stuff on FB.
Sorry to hear of your legal hassles.

Never sold on Craiglist, but everything I hear is that its a ton of noise, lots of haggling, etc I'd avoid.

I'm so sorry to hear about that Jay. All the best in the court case.

I think a BGG auction would be the way to go. The community often comes together to help members in need, more so than eBay, so an auction for “save my business” might get people to dig deep.

We really need a thread titled THAT DAMN BARNES where we discuss games we bought because Barnes wrote about them or unloaded them.

I had a pile of Descent 1e stuff, basically everything but Road to Legend. I traded it to a friend for his dayglo original Nexus Ops.
Then FFG announced Descent 2e and a reprinting of Nexus Ops. I lost money, but I still probably came out ahead on actual time played with Nexus Ops.
