We were talking about games set in Afghanistan in another thread, recently, and so this one stuck out to me for that reason and because it's a block wargame:

www.gmtgames.com/p-955-bear-trap-the-sov...n-war-1979-1989.aspx

Looks pretty cool.

That us a very touchy topic, I wonder how they deal with the US support.

And I REALLY want James Bond and Rambo cards. It won't fit the seriousness of the theme but damn... how fun would it be to play those cards?

I am assuming that I need not educate anyone on this forum about Rambo III and The Living Daylights :p

I’m still looking at Atlantic Chase.

Never explain a punchline.

I'm intrigued enough by the concept of 'Cross Bronx Expressway' that I'm in on that. It could be supremely dry but hey, it's definitely something different. Other than that I'm in for both 'Red Dust Rebellion' and 'The Pure Land' after falling in love with Cuba Libre, and I'm also looking forward to the reprint of 'Churchill'. Thankfully the eye-watering postage to Australia is preventing me from going hog wild on these.

Red Dust Rebellion is on my "kinda maybe" radar, just because of the overall Mars theme. I have enough COIN that doesn't get played that I probably don't need it.

Tanto Monta (the prequel to Here I Stand and Virgin Queen) is the only thing I actually have on P500 right now, but every once in a while I get tempted by other things.

I'm very interested in Charioteer by Matt Calkins (of Sekigahara fame). As an aside, I recently found out that Mr. Calkins is supposedly billionaire - I'm sure Sekigahara sales contributed some modest amount to his fortune but the rest of it was mostly made in tech/cloud computing.

I've also got Almoravid: Reconquista and Riposte in Spain, 1085-1086 by Volko Ruhnke in the basket. I haven't played the first in the series, Nevsky, Teutons and Rus in Collision, 1240-1242 but it seems positively reviewed and I find this geography and period of history more interesting.

Almorovid looks to be more fluid than NEVSKY, which depending on the weather could really bog down into once Mud hit.

I am a sucker for card driven stuff, so I have TANTO MANTA and HUBRIS on pre order as well, but neither look to be shipping anytime soon. Oh yeah, CLASH OF SOVEREIGNS as well.
