Not from Restoration but Avalon Hill. Not much to go on, just a timer.

Hopefully this means a Battlemasters re-release is in the works and then Heroscape comes back out in another 15.

It's peculiar, because yesterday's countdown (9/11) was expiring today (9/12). It seems the clock has already rolled back nine days.

It was 10 days when I first saw it yesterday afternoon.

I'm getting a real "mobile free to play game" vibe from the cartoony image.

Wild. I think I checked it around 10:30 am EST.

Regardless, we can wait. How many years has it been since AHQ's "Terror in the Dark?" 27?

Ugh. Thanks for harshin' my mellow. Now that it's been mentioned, I can't see an alternative.

I’m wondering if they are just preventing the trademark from lapsing, with both Restoration Games and LEGO making moves on it.

LEGO has no claim to it. The thing going around on the LEGO site is a fan submission thing, there's no way in hell they'd ever go for it and most submissions on the LEGO Ideas site that require getting rights don't happen. Sure, they did Ghostbusters and Back To the Future sets, but they may have already had them and GB and BTTF are much more guaranteed breadwinners than HeroQuest.

I still think Restoration is doing something, and if this does complicate things, I wouldn't be surprised if we still end up seeing AH put out HeroQuest Legacy game down the road.

There is also a verified Twitter account now that explicitly says that this is a board game.

PS, the ESRB privacy certificate is standard procedure for any website that is advertising products that could be marketed towards children. It is not a video game, but sure, let's make conclusions based on an image of a timer and a skull faced dude. And if it is cartoonish looking (it isn't), good, it should be. You know why? Because HeroQuest is for children, that's not going to change.

I'll applaud Josh on all points except his last. Heroquest is not for children (exclusively).

So what are everyone's hopes for something like this? What would it be like, look like?

I played Heroscape when I got into the hobby as a kid, so I have tingles of 80s/90s nostalgia it's playing on. But not sure what I would expect it to do given what has come out since.

Coding error. Days only had a one character field for display.

Two years ago, I ran the OG 14 quests and 1/2 of Witch Lord. I was Zargon, and two buddies split the hero duties: Wizard & Barbarian. Elf & Dwarf.

We had a blast, RAW. It's a light, dice chucking game still filled with wonder. It's less a competition from a '1 vs many' perspective, and more of a very light hack n' slash role playing session.

We drank beer. We laughed. We played again and again. Then life (kids, cars, and pandemics). We may see Heroquest again on the other side. Tough to say.

What would I want to see? Another board game. Something complementary as opposed to a straight up reprint. Something that could seamlessly integrate with the my OG stuff. That's a tall order, and I suspect I'm in the minority.

I don't wanna see an app.

So for you, just like more Heroscape modules (new game size module really) based on the same core rules? That does fit the Restoration Games mandate.

I pretty much want a 1:1 reprint bit with some balancing to make the game more difficult for the heroes. I'd love a complete abandonment of a campaign, but I doubt that would happen. I absolutely 100% do not want to see an app or full co-op.
